The ModuStone idea
Build the difficult part first.
A conventional outdoor fireplace can require several site visits, specialized masonry labour, weather protection and days of work. ModuStone is designed to shift more of that process into controlled fabrication before the unit reaches the project.
Masonry core
The structural fireplace body is fabricated before delivery rather than assembled piece by piece at the final site.
Real stone finish
Natural stone remains part of the finished product, preserving the depth, texture and permanence people expect from masonry.
Lift-ready planning
Placement is considered during fabrication so lifting access, alignment and final positioning can be planned before delivery day.
Shorter site work
The remaining work is focused on setting, required connections and finishing instead of starting the masonry build from zero.
What you are buying
A fireplace system, not just a stone shell.
The exterior is what you see, but a useful outdoor fireplace has to be planned from the fire area outward. Heat-resistant components, masonry mass, opening proportions, chimney path and exterior finish all have to work together.
Representative scale: the current 8-foot ModuStone fireplace is approximately 8,000 lb, is planned as a two-piece masonry assembly and is priced at $14,995 CAD before delivery, taxes and site work. Final dimensions, weight and lifting information are confirmed for the ordered configuration.
Heat-resistant masonry components form the working firebox and are selected for the demands of an outdoor wood-burning fireplace.
The masonry body provides the mass and support that makes the finished fireplace feel permanent once set in place.
The upper assembly is coordinated with the fireplace design and the final chimney configuration required for the installation.
The exterior stone and cap details determine the architectural character, from refined granite to more traditional fieldstone looks.
Choose the character
One construction idea, very different finished looks.
The modular system should disappear visually once the fireplace is installed. Stone selection, jointing, coping and proportions are what give the finished unit its personality.
Natural stone exterior
Choose a stone direction that suits the house, patio or landscape, from more uniform ledgestone to irregular fieldstone character.
Mortar makes a difference
Joint profile and mortar colour can make the same stone feel cleaner and more contemporary or softer and more traditional.
Finish the top deliberately
Cap and coping choices create the final horizontal lines and help coordinate the fireplace with adjacent hardscape details.
Size it for the space
The fireplace should feel substantial without overpowering the patio. Standard designs simplify selection while custom work remains possible.
Before delivery
The fireplace may arrive built. The site still has to be ready.
These units are heavy masonry. Good installation starts with the base, access and clearances being resolved before a truck or lifting machine arrives.

Is this a lightweight fireplace kit?
No. The ModuStone concept is based on substantial masonry construction finished in real stone. The advantage is that much of the skilled assembly is completed before the fireplace reaches the site.
Does it still need a foundation?
Yes. A modular fireplace is still a heavy masonry unit and needs an appropriately designed, level supporting base. Final requirements depend on the selected fireplace, soil and site conditions.
Can I choose the stone?
Yes. Natural-stone selection is one of the main ways a ModuStone fireplace can be customized. Stone, jointing and coping direction are confirmed as part of the project configuration before fabrication.
Can a contractor install it for me?
Yes. The system is intended to work well with landscape, masonry and general contractors who can prepare the site, coordinate lifting and complete the required finishing work. ModuStone can provide the product-specific information needed for planning.
What lifting equipment is required?
That depends on the unit weight, reach, site access and final placement location. The equipment should be selected after the specific fireplace and delivery plan are confirmed, rather than assuming one machine will suit every project.
Can it be delivered outside Prince Edward Island?
Yes. Regional and longer-distance freight across Canada can be planned where the route, receiving access and lifting requirements work for the selected fireplace. Send us the project location so we can review the practical delivery plan.
Can the fireplace be customized?
Yes. Standard configurations make ordering and fabrication more predictable, while stone, coping and selected design details provide substantial visual variation. More extensive custom work can be discussed where the project justifies it.
Is the fireplace stone applied on site?
No. The visible natural-stone finish is completed during fabrication. The site is prepared for a heavy modular placement, with only the specified installation, chimney, connection and surrounding hardscape work remaining.
